American Splendor

Best movie I've seen this year. Now available on DVD.

It's hard to be objective about this movie. It was like spending an afternoon with family members, in the underground comic book family. I enjoyed every minute of it. I think Pekar was well-represented, and the cast was great (the actor who plays Crumb was dead-on, and the guy who played Pekar was extremely good, too) I can't stop thinking it since I saw it, last night. Maybe when I have another day or two to digest it, I can add more. In the meantime, put this on on your list of movies to see. It's completely original, I'm not surprised it's getting such good reviews, as well as top awards at film festivals worldwide.
